Food Haunt
August 27, 2007  |  Food Guide

*Photos intensive post! Watch your drooling. Don’t dirty your keyboard yio!

We started our search for 603 Tau Sar Piah along Balestier Road. Drove down the whole stretch of Belastier Road and spotted couple of shops selling Tau Sar Piah. And finally, almost to the end of the road, we spotted this…

We didn’t know what to expect when we were there, and never had we expected to see this…
The Tau Sar Piah was going fast and furious and I had a bad feeling that there wouldn’t be any left for me when I reach. I was very anxious to find out the flavors left for me, especially the traditional salted flavor. Just look at my expression while I was in the queue! *lol*
And true enough, the salted tau sar piah was sold out. (I had the last 3 pieces.) The other one which I wanted to try, the black saseme flavor was sold out too! Sadness. I bought some of each flavors to try. And so I am a contented customer with 2 boxes of 603 tau sar piah…

The different alpha representing the different flavors…

Y = Yam, G = Greentea?, D = Durian, C = Coffee
and those without are the tradtional ones… with sesame is the sweet and the plain is salted

Looks yummy right? Come… have a bite…

and the fluffy and light skin just melts in your mouth!
I had problem holding on to the half eaten tau sar piah
cos it was so soft that it’ll break if you hold too hard.

He had a go at the tau sar piah too…

After our mini-adventure with 603 Tau Sar Piah, we headed to Chong Pang Market to get he’s specs fixed. The mini tau sar piah didn’t quite fill my hungry tummy, so we had our favorite food at the market…

and I tried the pearl beancurd which was new at the market too…

it wasn’t fantastic but quite nice.
I prefer the one at Chomp Chomp.
And we ended our day at Pasir Ris Beach Park… with some Beach Culture… he saw it on TV and we thought of checking the place out.The outdoor didn’t quite attracted us as there was no wind, not even a slight breeze. So we hid indoor. The sofa seats was comfy and great choice for chilling out with friends.

This is the Chicken “Zurich Style”

The food was so-so. Didn’t quite suit my taste.
But the Rosti on the chicken was very crispy on the outside.

Had a great Sunday. Thanks to him.
Love ya!
