Farewell to the Horny-est City
September 23, 2008  |  Travel Guide  |  hcm, Ho Chi Minh, Holiday, Nikon D40, Photos, Travel Guide

Here’s my last recap of our trip to Ho Chi Minh. It’s really not easy trying to recall what happened a year ago, especially when my memory is getting bad as I get older.

If you’d missed out on my previous posts on my trip to Ho Chi Minh, you can read them using these links…
1. Arriving at Ho Chi Minh – my first impression
2. Things I saw on the street and at the market
3. The yummy and cheap food! *slurps*
4. People I saw

====================================================

Our stay at HCM was short and we didn’t really get to explore many other parts of it. For the 3 days we were there, we only roamed around the center area. If I were to go again, perhaps I’ll join a tour group or some day trip so that I can explore more parts of the place. Still, the trip was fun, especially the photo opportunity at HCM. I love bringing my cameras around! Hope to have more chance to do it soon.

Few more photos of Ho Chi Minh…

Abang infront of a shop selling flags and badges

That’s the central post office behind me

Can’t remember what these booths were for

Could be phonebooth for international calls. Anyone can confirm?

That’s a church behind Abang

Front view of it…

Many people in Vietnam goes to church. And the place was filled with lots of Christmas spirit when we were there. Although the place is small, but the atmosphere is so much more intense than in Singapore! Everyone was out at night wearing pretty clothes and kids dressed in angel outfit. They’ll go around taking photos with every single Christmas decorations they can see around them!

We tried taking some too…

in front of a shopping mall entrance

and another shopping mall…

A huge Christmas tree inside a 5-star hotel

====================================================

The trip ended too soon. There were many more attractions and places to explore. But we didn’t plan for that this time round. Hope we’ll get another chance to go back again to continue exploring.

If you’re planning to take a trip to HCM soon, don’t forget to book your return flight and remember to call your airline to confirm your ticket before heading down to the airport. I usually does that, but we just didn’t do it this time, and ended up having to wait for few hours as our flight was delayed. The airport there, although new, is no way close to what we have here in Singapore. So be prepared to be bored if you’re stuck there for too long.

We were just relieved to be able to finally check-in and move on.

At the airport waiting for check-in…

Some last minute shopping after check-in to finish up our Dongs…

Abang choosing his goodies for home…

That also marked the end of our short getaway at Ho Chi Minh City.

Hope you’d enjoyed my recollection and photos. ^_^

    don't post comment to ask why. I blame it on the stupid sync on iPhoto!
