Claud’s Viewfinder – Walking the Dragon
October 16, 2008  |  Her Viewfinder  |  Childhood, Childs play, Dragons, Mosaic Playground, Nikon D40, Photos, Viewfinder

Are you in your 20s or 30s now? Can you recall the dragons you see at the playground around your neighbourhood? I miss those playgrounds! So one day, I decided to haunt for some of them and I was delighted to be able to climb that narrow stairs and slide down the concrete slide. And I walked through the dragon’s tummy too! I so miss those days!

Have you every walked the dragon too?

This is the tummy of the dragon…

And these girls are walking the dragon!

Just like me and my friends from long ago.

There are more photos of these dragons I took! You can find them here.

I miss these mosaic playgrounds!

I should go and visit one of these. When it was around a lot during my childhood days, its like almost extinct now:(

No more dragon, no more fruit :\

Want more local playground. Dont want so many standardized playgrounds

I miss these kind of playgrounds, the one with the mosaic base and sand. I miss the swings too. Too bad the Govt deemed it ‘too dangerous’. The kids now days don’t know what they’re missing.

The dragon playground was really fun, especially trying not to get your feet stuck between the metal rails on the curvy trail along the spine.

The other playground that I sorely missed is the one with the metal lattice tower. There’s a series of spiral platforms which you go around until you reach the top. I knocked my head into it once. Loved climbing on the outside. Dangerous on hindsight.

Why don’t playgrounds come with swings anymore?

Oh yes, I remember those! I used to play at the playgrounds after school ended. I remember there was also one huge wheel where we could all stand on it and some poor guy would have to push us around.

sigh, how I miss those days…

If you're reading a post and see a missing photo message from flickr like this...

don't post comment to ask why. I blame it on the stupid sync on iPhoto!
