Claud was the one who inspired me to print my personal namecard. :) Oh, Please remind me to pass my namecard to you and the rest of the gang the next time I see you guys!

And I agree that an interesting namecard is a good way to start a conversation – definitely helps to break the ice!

like yr take on having a blogger namecard. i personally think bloggers who are not anonymous should have one, for easy reference :)

wow wow, my namecard is there too. haha! yeah i agreed, its kind of a hassle if you don’t have namecards to give, especially so when you are at a blogger event, its much easier to introduce yourself to others if you have one, although it is not really a must. It is a good way to start a conservation, people will comment about how interesting your card look like, and stuff like that, and from there on, you guys can continue the topic.

Totally agree with you Claudia.

Personally, it’s very important to have a name card that is nicely designed and printed. Though many things can be done through the online world nowadays, some things just don’t beat meeting face to face and having something tangible and nice to hold onto.

I always remember people better with cool name cards.

@hyperX I don’t see it as a culture. If you don’t need one, than you don’t need one. But you’re right on the point where they want to get in touch with advertisers or potential partners to work with. But blogging should not be too “business” like or commercialized. Else it’ll affect the credibility of the blog and the editors of the blogs.

@kennysia, I’m flattered. Thanks to Caleb for the comments on his blog. Guess that’s how u found this place. :) with a status like yours, you’re already the walking brand/namecard.

@caleb guess you too does not need any introduction. but than for those who have never met you before (like me) wouldn’t know you were present at big events.

@leonard that’s one of the reason why namecards are important. that’ll help one remember who’s who after the meetup. at least that’s what I do. if I forget someone’s name, I just have to search through the cards I collected that day. :)

Actually, an interesting namecard is a good way to start a conversation too!

I can’t remember people’s name (sometimes) almost after shaking hands with them and I don’t get any namecard(s) from fellow bloggers.

Actually I do have my own printed name cards. I don’t give them out socially of course, but if I met someone and a business opportunity arise, I might want to have it handy to hand them out. As the previous commenter noted, it’s becoming pretty often that bloggers get approached by advertisers or PR/events companies.

I printed a 100 pieces once and I’ve almost used them up within a year.
