This my Gonggong, the one who saw me grow up since I was born.
Ah Ma and Gonggong at Ah Ma’s Birthday When I was a child, Gonggong would bring me out every Sunday to either my favorite arcade at Thomson Plaza or Parkway Parade, or he would bring me shopping with Ah Ma. Gonggong would buy me things when I behaved myself or did well in school.
Read MoreWe were on a Sakae Sushi fever couple weeks ago. Imagine Sakae Sushi three days in a row! Almost had a forth but we couldn’t find one where we were that night. Day 1 was at Heartland Mall outlet, Day 2 at Rivervale Mall and Day 3 at Compasspoint.
Having dinner at the same place for three days gave us the temptation to order different food on each day. So no usual orders for us. (Well, except a few lah!) Here are the new variety of food we ordered, and couple of our favorites…
Hiyashi Ramen, $7.99“Fun is fun, where got harmful or harmless one?” And you’re wrong! Something which to you may be fun, but to others it may be a very painful experience. I can so list down 101 fun that may seem harmless but is very harmful in actual fact.
Picture this… Party with tons of booze, horny guys and sexy gals. Uh-huh… you get where I’m heading to right? Worst if an attached guy gets involve with the girlfriend’s best friend! And… and… she gets pregnant!! Wah!! Damn drama already can! But that’s how true life can get! Ask around, if you’ve got friends old enough, they’ll sure have some similar stories to share.
So are these kind of fun still fun to you?
No, I’m not saying that I’ve done anything naughty! I’m just sharing a new online drama which is taking place right now at notsosecretlives.com. Not going to tell you more else I’m going to let the cat out of the bag!
Just go check the site out and follow the drama! Participate in the discussions on facebook and take your stand on who you think has committed the sin in “Crossroads”.

Did you catch Chingay 2010 on TV just now? What’s your take on it? Did you enjoy watching the parade? Having had my chance to finally watch Chingay live this year (with a ticket entrance), I was very excited while waiting for the day to come. However when I was finally there, seated at K189, the feel I was expecting wasn’t quite felt. Still it was an enjoyable night, thanks to the appearance of Kung Fu Panda, Puss in boots and the other characters from Resort World Sentosa at the finale.
Mascots from RWS at Chingay14.02.10. This day filled with happiness and joy. The Tiger has brought me luck and love. Both of which happened on the first day of Chinese New Year (and also Valentine’s Day). These gave me hope and I see a prosperous year ahead.
The Proposal
It was Valentine’s Day, but with Chinese New Year falling on the same day, the latter overpowered. Having spent the entire day visiting and preparing/hosting the relatives at home, I was glad to spend some quiet time with Abang for dinner. Took a stroll to digest the food and that’s when the things slowly happened.
There was no fancy flowers nor expensive dinner. No drama nor exaggerated actions. It was simple, sweet and emotional. I was expecting this to happen much much later, so I was really caught in surprise when he asked it. Took me couple of seconds to absorb those words, “Will you marry me?”.
I hugged him so tightly he could hardly keep his balance, and tears of joy just kept flowing down my cheek. Really didn’t expect this to happen so soon.
I know there are still many unknown outcomes and unanswered questions. But I really want us to receive full blessings from both our families and friends, no matter which path we ultimately decides to take. I don’t need no grand wedding nor expensive gown. I don’t need no big diamond ring either. All I ask for is for true blessings and a comfy home for both of us.
The proposal may have taken place, but what’s to come next may take some time to plan and save up for. Not forgetting the many decisions which we (and our families) will have to make and accept.
Thanks to all friends and tweet folks for your well wishes!
Lunar New Year is just around the corner, and the traditional auntie inside me is shouting reminders of all the must-do things. One of which is to do a “Huat ah!” on the 4th day of Lunar New Year with my team in the office. And according to Mum, the auspicious hours to do it is between 11am to 3pm. So we’ve decided to gather and have our CNY lunch at the office.
The nearest place with decent Yu Sheng for that day for me is Sakae Sushi at Heartland Mall. So today, I placed my orders for our CNY lunch from Sakae Sushi.

Ordered the medium “Rong” Yusheng with extra serving of Salmon Sashimi
