Mussels – Some say its like sex

August 30, 2010  |  Food Guide, Her Viewfinder  |  Canon EOS 7D, Claud talks Food, seafood, The Mussel Guys, Vivo City  |  2 comments

I know Diana hates it and never will ever touch one. I personally have a love-hate for mussels, but I’ve had too much of it the past 3 days. First was at Vivo City and the next at Parkway Parade two days later. I shall not go into details why mussels to some are like sex, I’ll keep that to your own imagination. *coughs*

Do these remind you of sex?

Its my second visit to The Mussel Guys at Vivo City, and of course, the mussels were the highlight of the dinner. The other items we ordered were sadly not to our liking. The reason why we walked into The Mussel Guys was that it had no queue. You know how crazy queues get around Vivo City during dinner time! Despite the average crowd, service was pretty slow. When more tables filled up over the hour or so while we were there, service went from bad to literally, none.

An Inspiration to All and Reminder to Myself

August 26, 2010  |  Stumpled  |  No Comments

Let the kid in us shine! Put your idea into action. That’s what I’m doing and will be doing till I wither and die! Will you?

Aside: I’ve something up my sleeve and is looking for like-minded folks! Needs video and photo crew, creative crew and talents! No incentive but expect lots of fun and an experience that’ll fall nicely into your portfolio! You know where and how to reach me, don’t you?

Don’t blame anyone else as everyone’s to blame.

There’s always two sides, or at times, many sides of a story. News journalists are human, bloggers are human, everyone commenting, adding fumes, giving their piece of mind and all those reading are all human. To err is human.

I am human too. And has made many mistakes in my almost 30 years of life and still am.

There are those who blame the government for the lack of support to the needy and poor and instead spend millions on a worldwide event. There are those who blame the blogger who has worked so hard over the years to build up his followings and well maintained blog with just one side of the story. And there are many (including me) who will start blaming everyone and everything when something went wrong or not the way its was planned.

But we always forget to first blame ourselves for the action and words that was used. Worst still online. With no need to identify oneself, we tend to say words which we think we need not take responsible for. “Aiyah, just use some random name and no one will know its me…“. Enemies or haters may even use someone else’s name just so to flame that innocent soul.

Stop saying things you only know or see from one side of the three dimensional subject – our world is multi dimensional. Stop judging things unless you’ve dived deep enough to understand the whole picture. Stop complaining and start contributing positively. Complaining won’t make this world a better place.

You will.

This post got me recalling some books I saw long ago by Istvan Banyai. Zoom, Re-zoom and The Other Side.

Beautiful People and Great Food at 10@Claymore

August 13, 2010  |  Food Guide, Her Viewfinder  |  10@Claymore, bloggers, Canon EOS 7D, Citibank, Dinner, Pan Pacific  |  No Comments

Thanks to nice people at Pan Pacific and Citibank, I’d a chance to savor great food and enjoy the great company of friends and partners. Wished the night could rewind and play again, with me feeling pink instead of green.

10@Claymore introduced a new menu two months or so ago, and there’s no need for graphical representation on their giant menu. What you read is what you’ll get, just 10x better when the elegant serving with pure goodness and no fuss is presented to you.

There were simply too much food served that night. Remembering all the goodness and taste would have killed me from hunger. Perhaps I have my flu to thanks, I could only recall the one dish I had and the dish that I savored slowly on my own.

The Number Game

August 8, 2010  |  The Entrepreneur, Work Related  |  24seven, Accounting, Freeagent, less accounting, Xero  |  2 comments

No thanks to my lack of discipline and time to keep my accounting books in order, my entire financial system is in total mess. With more and more invoices, payments and receipts flying my way monthly, the accounting workflow I used last year can no longer help support the needs of my company and me. So the search for the right accounting system began. And after a week of research and trying I’ve finally decided.

What I’m looking out for when trying the various accounting system?

  • System UI and simplicity of workflow.
  • Web-based so that I can access anywhere and not worry my MBP will die one day with all my accounts gone.
  • Multi-user and level access.
  • Project management or costing feature.
  • Easy creation and converting of quotations and proposals to invoices.
  • Flexibility of templates for quotes, proposals and invoices.
  • And of course, the cost.

Here in this post, I’m sharing and giving a brief review of the accounting systems which I’ve evaluated and tested.

It was a night where the who’s who in the local social media community gathered for the first #nlbmeetup held at library@esplanade. If you’ve missed this one, don’t worry, cause they promised to have more coming your way soon!

A meetup at the library? Isn’t that boring? On the contrary it’s quite an experience. Not all the time you get to cheer, clap and laugh out loud inside a library right?

Voyage de la Vie at Resort World Sentosa

August 1, 2010  |  Rediscover Singapore, Reviews, Show to catch  |  Circus, Media Invite, Performance, RWS, Voyage De La Vie  |  5 comments

A splendid performance for everyone! Had great fun that night, being surrounded by great talents from 16 countries. There were so many things to see, I wished I had an extra pair of eyes! Was almost a 10/10, but I’m giving it a 8.9/10. Find out why below the fold…

Seriously i can’t recall when was the last time I caught a live circus act! When we were young(er) I remember sitting inside a round tent watching acrobats and animals doing their stunt in the middle of the tent. That was my last impression of a circus. When the opportunity to watch one at Resort World Sentosa came knocking my door on my birthday, I couldn’t wait!
