Lately I’ve been spotted with stylish earpiece around my ear. They are the Plantronics Voyager Lengend and Marque 2 M165.
Moving on to my review of the two bluetooth headsets…
Marque 2 M165
The Marque 2 is small, light-weight and pretty in white. Sound quality is good and clear. It features dual microphones, which provides excellent call quality through noise and wind noise reduction.
The Marque 2 M165 has the new DeepSleep Technology, which helps to provide up to 180 days of battery readiness. The power-saving technology puts the headset to sleep when it is physically out of range from a paired phone for more than 90 minutes. and wakes the headset when it is within the range of 33 feet or less of the paired phone. The M165 can connect with two paired Bluetooth phones, allowing the user to answer using the headset with either one of the phones. Very useful for those with a personal and work phone.
The Plantronics Marque 2 M165 is priced at S$129 SRP and is available at Apple stores, Challenger, Harvey Norman, Newstead, Sprint-Cass (Changi Airport T1, T2, T3), Stereo (ION, Plaza Singapura), Funan DigitalLife Mall, 3mobile, Gadgetworld, DG Lifestyle Store, i.Comm (Golden Shoe, Habourfront), Blazing, and Sim Lim Square.
Between the two headsets, I prefer the Voyager Legend than the Marque 2. Though the size looks much bigger, but it feels as comfortable to wear and use. In my opinion, its feels even better than the Marque 2. Usability advances provide convenience and control with dedicated buttons for call answer/end, voice commands, power and mute.
The Voyager Legend headset has three precisely tuned microphones and enhanced DSP that optimize your voice and minimize noise caused by wind, movement, and background sounds. Industry-first Smart Sensor technology intuitively directs calls to your phone or headset and allows you to automatically answer by placing the headset on your ear. The Voyager Legend proactively delivers voice alerts to keep you informed of battery level, connection status and announces caller name. The headset also takes voice commands such as “pair”, “answer” or “ignore” to keep you in control of your technology.
For best result, when you wear the headsets, imagine a line from your ear to the corner of your mouth and align the headset with this line. It not only looks aesthetically more pleasant on the face, the mic can pick up your voice better.
