I am super impressed with OCBC Bank and the awesomeness just keeps getting better! For the longest time, I’ve been with POSB/DBS, that’s where most Singaporean will probably have their first bank account setup by their parents many years back. And we just simply follow through and use the same bank when we grow up. I’ve also tried UOB, Standard Chartered and OCBC bank over the years for personal banking. And as of now, the most impressive one I’ve encountered is OCBC Bank.

I started using their savings services only in the recent 2 years and it is more like a spare account to temporarily hold my money so that I won’t overspend over the month. Haven’t been paying much attention to this account and my credit cards with them till today.

I logged into my personal banking internet banking with OCBC Bank, and was greeted by this new feature call Money Insight.

OCBC Banking - Money Insight

Money Insight feature gives you a graphical and useful view of where and how you are spending your money across all the accounts you have with OCBC Bank. The above graph shows how much money went in and out over the months. And by adjusting the slider along the timeline, your other graph (shown below) will be updated.

As you can see above, they split up your spending into categories based on where your cards were used, as you can see above, in August so far, I spent the most on dining. Usually that’s not the case! (#facts)

You can also set a budget for each category and subscribe to SMS/Email alert when you exceeds your set budget for the month. This is awesome right? Need not keep track of your spending as long as you use your OCBC cards to pay for them! I love this feature!

Once budget is set, your Money Insight graph will show if you’ve overspent or still has more budget in each of the categories.

Another interesting feature is the “People Like You” statistics, comparing your profile to the rest of the customers with similar profile as you with the bank. Interesting statistics aren’t they?
