Backed by a 3-year limited warranty, the HGST Touro S external hard drives are Mac and PC compatible, and are available in metallic finishes in Gold, Silver, Ruby, and Platinum.
Personally I’m loving the portability and weight of my Gold Touro S, it holds all my media content and essential documents and work. It fits nicely into my laptop carrier too without giving much additional budget or weight.
And of course I love seeing how all my gadgets and bag are nicely coordinated! If only there is a gold MBP too! That will be awesome!
Using the USB3.0 on the Touro S with my MBP makes backing up fast and effective. Then again, all my other hdd are all USB3.0 with the same transfer rate. But they aren’t as compact and lightweight as the Touro S. So this gold hdd gets to travel around more with me.
Touro Cloud Backup
With so many cloud storage options available in the market, I’m not sure how their solution will stand out among the rest. At a price tag of USD59 for 250GB storage per year, it is more expensive than paying for a 1TB Dropbox plus subscription. Perhaps if they throw in a free one year subscription with every purchase of their products, users may consider using it and paying for renewal for subsequent years instead of migrating everything out from it.
But having said all that, HGST is having a great promotion this December and I am considering getting a few more Touro S just to earn those chances to win the 16GB iPhone 6. More details below.
