ZoukOut2010 – Claudia’s First

What an experience it had been at my debute appearance at ZoukOut! *coughs* Sounds as if I was there to DJ or perform! Ha! I spent more time walking from one entrance to the next than dancing on the sand (which I didn’t quite enjoy). Sand and Claudia just doesn’t gel well together you see.

The night was short and sweet for me. My body was aching and screaming for attention even before midnight. It was still an eye opener for this mountain tortoise who’ve never stepped into ZoukOut for the past 9 years. When I finally get to step into one, its already their 10th anniversary! Can’t believe the Mambo Queen in me waited 10 years to realised how much I’d missed out on. And now I’m just too old to boogie much. Boo!

At my first ZoukOut, of course I got to milk as much as I could and ended up experiencing it with Citibank and popped by Heineken tent too and got a cool fan which you can read text off while its spinning. Cool to look at but doesn’t keep me cool. If you can’t imagine how the fan looks like, here’s a video of the spinning fan.

Since I was there partially for work, I spent more time walking back and forth along the long stretch of beach from the first entrance to the actual ZoukOut entrance which I think was about 200-300m? Damn shagged I tell you! But seeing all the party goers waiting helplessly in the queue was even more tiring. They would have been able to get in through the priority queue if they had a Citi Clear Platinum Card loh!

The three dance zones were all packed with dancing and jumping people at about 10.30pm. This was the first time I see so many dancing at such early hours! Thanks to the happening people, I got to do a little boggie at the Mambo tent for about 20 minutes before I surrendered and left.

Since I’m hooked to the simplicity of creating a trailer with iMovie’11, here’s one I compiled for my debute appearance at ZoukOut! :P

Hope Citibank keeps their Facebook Page updated with news like this so we the card holders can milked as much out of our credit cards!

Trailer with iMovie’11 #HPAmp

Finally I tried the new movie trailer feature on the iMovie’11. It took a little more time than I’d expected to create, due to the lack of clips but I still got it completed within minutes. It’s really very cool and simple to create attractive clips. My first clip is dedicated to HP Singapore‘s 40th Anniversary & Christmas Party. See if you catch yourself or someone you know from it…

This Christmas, if given the time and opportunity to, I would love to AMP (amplify) someone’s Christmas with a personal session of photo shoot with me! I promise to capture great shots of him/her or a lovely couple and they’ll get to keep the photos in digital and view them in a lovely album made just for them from me. Yap! That’s how I would like to AMP my Christmas. Who’s up to get AMP-ed by me? :P

New Toy, Sol.

After an evening with Sol, my heart just can’t resists the temptation. It was love after so many sights, and when I finally got to go deeper into him, it was the route of no return.

For the first time, I’m naming my new toy! Sol, my new Canon S95 will arrive in full glory next week. Shall wait patiently for his grand arrival.

I’m a Planner.

I like to plan things. Plan my day, my week, the month ahead, the year ahead and everything in my life. I don’t like waking up in the morning not knowing what’s there to do that day. Some say I’m a control freak. I bet to differ. I’ll rather say that I’m a planner. So I plan.

I enjoy planning events and gatherings. From young, I always plan what my family will do on special occasions. When I’m in school, I plan how to make a project work. When I’m at work, I’m tasked to plan events, celebrations and all kind of activities. For the love of planning, I planned quite a few community events and I’m doing one right now.

It’s happening on 13 Nov, Saturday from 2pm to 5pm at Standing Sushi Bar at 8Q SAM. This time round, it should be a cosy event where the greatest in their field, shares what to them is the next big bang – be it for the digital space or for the individuals who are looking at the next big thing to do for themselves. Looking at the list of topics and speakers, I sure am looking forward to it!

I hope you can come join us too if you’re available that day. Especially if you are very much into the digital, social or new media spaces. As the venue has got limited sitting capacity, registration will close once it hits 60. RSVP early before its all filled!

Finally I Partied! At Stereolab

After months of non-happening-nor-party-life, finally I broke the chain! My feet got to stamped my feet and throw my hands in the air and screammmmmmmmm!!! The feeling was great for the first 5-minutes, and then the aging me stepped in. I realised I could no long party all night like I used to! This is sad.

It was Midnight Shift‘s First Anniversary Party and the crowd, music and atmosphere that night was fantastic! The place was cosy and nice, the only complain I have is the carpeted floor was sticky! I thought it was just me, but I triple checked with my bro and Leshane whom all agreed that the floor was sticky. Someone cracked a joke saying that its to prevent us from slipping when one is high on alcohol!

One thing that I enjoyed most that night was the super drummer! She was goooood! Yes! It’s a she! I was shocked too when I saw her after hearing her performance. Fantastic I tell you! Found out that her name’s Serena.

I rode on a Terrex!

Never in my life I’d thought of riding in a military vehicle! But I actually did! A pretty damn cool one I must say! I was riding inside the Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicle at the Media Event for NDP2010 Mobile Column line-up.

The Terrex ICV raises the combat effectiveness of the infantry forces with its superior capabilities in networking, protection, mobility and firepower. With its onboard Battlefield Management System (BMS), it can call upon the firepower of other land and air platforms such as the Leopard Main Battle Tanks and Apache Attack Helicopters. It is also networked with soldiers equipped with the Advanced Combat Man System (ACMS).

WAH!!! That’s a mouthful of names and jargon! But its damn cool riding inside the Terrex! I was told this is one of the latest model and equipped with cooling system to enhance the comfort of our infantry forces. The ride was smooth and not as uncomfortable as I’d thought.

For safety reasons, we had to put on the heavy helmet! I look so o.o in it lah! But safety first! Round and ugly, but still must camwhore for memory sake! Wahahahaha!

We did the route that the mobile column will be doing on National Day at the Padang. When we arrived at the Padang, we could hear the fanfare from inside the tank and boy the excitement was exhilarating! Imagine riding past the Padang on the actual day! (No I won’t be inside the Terrex come 9 Aug! I’ll be seated at the spectator stand watching the show! YEah!)

All these opportunities were made possible by the great, hardworking and pretty cute guy – Joel! He’s always working behind the scene and rarely spotted in the frontline. So I’m going to post his photo up here for all to see his cuteness (cuter in person though)! Wahahahahahaha! @eevonng and @molemole will surely agree with me! :P Presenting…. Joel…

I Can Live It Up Without Lighting It Up! So Can You!

Finally I experienced my very first flash mob! Having missed a few of these actions I was determined to go for this. But I’ve to admit that the lucky draw (with 3 iPad up for grab) was a main pull of course! Though I didn’t win any of the iPads, I had a fun day walking and sweating together with Abang. :P

Young and happening people @ #liveitup2010

There were three starting points for The Great Audio Experience, and I was with group that started off from SMU Green. We were given an iPhone-look-alike radio receiver which I thought was pretty cool.

That’s when TGAE begins…

Through the radio we got instructions for the various flash mobs. (Which I think turned out to be a flash walk instead.) We walked a whole round about SMU and then arrived back at about the same spot for next round of instructions. And then we walked and walked and walked again… Watch the video and you’ll know what I mean…

Finally after about 30-45 minutes of walking and sweating and ermm… doing silly things, we reached the final stop. And here the party began.

There were performances, band gigs and lucky draw that took place through the evening till 10plus at night. Quite an overshot from the original plan to end at 9pm! Too many bands playing too many songs. Didn’t stay for any performances except for one…

Black Diamond Ninjas

First heard them perform live at Hat-py Party last year, and now a much bigger and more powerful one at #liveitup2010. Have to admit I’m not a big fan of loud music, but compared to the other two I heard that night, BDN is much better than the rest. No I’m not being bias. Ending off with some shots I took with

First Team Retreat and BBQ

Last week, my lovely team at 24seven had our first team retreat at Aloha Loyang. The 3 days spent together was a fruitful and rejuvenating experience. We’ve got quite a lot of stuff ironed out and planned. 2010 is looking very exciting!

We’ve also invited fellow bloggers and friends for a BBQ on Wednesday night. It was a simple affair and everyone had fun (right?). I love gatherings like this. Fuss-free and casual.

As the team was occupied with “tasks” on hand that night – Kris and me at the BBQ pits, Eevon the bartender and Diana ensuring everyone gets food to eat, we didn’t have extra pair of hands for photo taking. Thanks to those who came and brought home happy photos from that night!
