Fetched her in town, so we had our lunch before heading home. She was hooked to Abang’s iPod touch while waiting for food to be served. The applications and UI of the iPod /iPhone is so easy to use, Minmin didn’t need any help with it. She knew exactly what to do with it the moment she held it in her hands. Navigating through the pages of apps, starting one and using it.

When we reached home, she wanted to go to the playground. Something which we’d not done for many years. After she changed and ready to play, the playground was packed with much younger kids. I think she’s a little shy to go, so we headed over to the park nearby and spent almost an hour there. Just nice the weather was great that day!

Minmin was enjoying herself running around the park, climbing, swinging and just relaxing on the bench. I wonder if she gets to play like that when she’s not with us. Seeing her playing makes me happy.

She had to try every exercise station at the park. She will go read the instructions printed and then carry out the steps. So cute lah watching her run to and back from the instructions board!

She also tried doing some sit-ups. Her first attempt wasn’t very successful. I did a demo on the right position to start and how to pull oneself up. She watched me do it once and she was able to do it on her own.

The next time we spend time together, we’ll be playing some hoops! Some jumping and running will do her health good. I need to go get a basketball!

Minmin, come visit us soon ok? We miss you already!

Again, we are not given the opportunity to spend your birthday with you. We hope you will not think that we do not care about you nor don’t want to be with you. But this is beyond our control. One day you will grow up and you will know why this is happening. We know you will.

That morning, we picked Min up at 10am and head over to Kallang for breakfast. It was something we don’t get to do often. After breakfast, we headed over to Sims Drive for a K1 race with fellow blogger friends.

The concept of K1 was born when CS Racing and the Singapore Motor Sports Association came together with one common goal – to develop the future of Motorsports in Singapore by raising awareness and interest among the community.

There was also a F1 model car on display for photo taking and display of photos from past F1 seasons too. Infusing the F1 experience even in the neighborhood. How I wish the K1 karting experience would be around Sengkang! How can not take photos since we’re there leh?

Before getting ourselves into the race, everyone will have to sign an indemnity form. Maciam like sign our life away lah! But this is necessary for all such activities. Nothing to worry about, cause safety always come first for the organisers and helpers at the carnival.

Minmin wanted to drive around the circuit too, but she’s underage. So we took a photo with the K1 karts instead. She was a little shy as usual at first, but eventually went for it, the temptation too hard to resists. There was also a little boy who was crying out loud at the carnival, wanting to join his elder sisters and father in the race, but he’s way too young for it. The organisers pacified him by bringing him in to take a shot with the K1 kart on display too. This display is for use at the safety talk prior to every race.

Experience with the kart was fun! Though speed limit was capped at 25km/h for safety reason at such carnival, driving the K1 kart around the narrow circuit was still quite a challenge and still as exciting. I’m sure the other bloggers who were there all have their stories to tell. Links to their post at end of this post. Abang went for the race too. He loved it! And we’ll be doing it again!

I took lots of photos of her in the cute uniform. And recorded a video clip of her wearing her school shoes and taking her first walk to school. She smiles and giggles when she sat down in line with her cute pink school bag which she’d excitedly pulled from home to school.

If only I could have really lived those moments in her first big day in school. But that didn’t happen. I hope she had fun and enjoyed her day.

To our sweetest girl Min,

It’s been 203 long and miserable days since we saw you. If only you know how much pain and misses these days have brought to Ayah and Mummy. We wrote you a letter a month ago, and till today, we have not been given any chance to see you at all.

Do you remember the mini celebration we had together last year? Although it was just a simple celebration, but you were here with us. I can still hear you giggle shyly when we took out the cake, and how you’ll hide behind one of us so that you can cover your embarrassment. We hardly have chance to spend time together, with so many Ayah’s family members who love you. No wonder you’re always shy when we meet.

We don’t know what happened to the letter that we’d been expecting from family court for almost 2 months now. They said they will send a letter to both parties with a date for an appointment at the family court. But till now, there’s no sign of it. Ayah will call them up again soon, we really want to be able to see you, hug you and spend quality time with you again soon.

For the past few days weeks months, we had hoped for a call to tell us that we can take you out over the weekend, but none came. Every time we see a cute dress, we would love to buy it for you, but we don’t know how big you’ve grown already. When I see something pink with princesses and your favorite Dora on it, I want to buy them all for you… but when will you get to play with them?

Today is your 6th birthday! You must be brighter and more mature already. But I know, you will probably still not understand what is happening. We hope you will soon.

When will we get to hug and spend time together again?

Its been 5 months since we last saw you. How have you been? Are you taller now? Have you gained weight or lost more of it since April? How are you doing in school? Did anyone bully you in class? Did you learn any new songs from school?

All you need is music, your love one and a (video) camera.

The first time I met Minmin was 4 years ago. She was 2 and still so small and wasn’t aware of the things happening around her. I remember that first day, she cried when I tried to get close to her. She refused to let me carry her. It was hard, for her and for me. But I knew our love will grow as time goes by.

It had been a very tough period from then, up till today. Even though the problem lies with the woman’s side, the loop-sided law still refuses to see things at the bigger picture. Instead of allowing the well educated, stable income and better living that the father can provide, Minmin had to follow the woman. It was painful for him. But there’s nothing much he could do at that point.

Access to Minmin, according to the stated agreement was once every two weeks, with one day access (6hrs) and one over night access (24hrs). Every week, since 4 years ago, we waited. We waited for that call telling us that we’ll get to see her over the weekend. But the call never came. It was only until reports were made and few more trips to the loop-sided place, that we started receiving calls. But still, even as planned, when we were on our way to picking her up, the phone might ring. And when it does, we knew it wasn’t going to be good. That woman manages to cook up thousand and one reasons to prevent us from seeing Minmin. Even at 20 minutes before the pick-up time, she would call and inform us that Minmin was sick! Many times, it wasn’t true.

After the initial emotional and mentally stretched period, we got used to it. Our weekends were never planned. Cause we never know whether we’ll be taking Minmin or not. In order not to miss our precious chance of seeing her, we try our best to avoid any events or outings on Sat and Sun. This went on, even up till today.

Over the 4 years, Minmin has grown, she seem to understand what’s happening in her life. She’s a very bright and intelligent girl. She knows what to say at the right time. Every moment spent with her was recorded, in photos or in videos. She’s our princess, our dearest, our love. Looking through the thousands of photos taken with her over the past 4 years, always bring back fond memories. And makes us forget about the tougher times we had without her.

After several games of Wii Sports, my parents tried their hands on Boxing. Dad seemed more like stabbing and jabbing then boxing. So mum decided to show him how it should be done.

Then on Sunday, Minmin’s favorite was also Wii Boxing. She totally enjoyed herself and it sure was a great workout for her.

Its been more than 2 months since we last saw her. We miss her very much. We have always been hoping for a call, from Wed through Fri, that’ll bring some hope for us. Due to the law that’s loop-sided, there wasn’t much we could do. And for the past 2 months, there wasn’t any call that gave us a slight chance of hope.

When Abang told me that we’ll be seeing her this week for a short 6 hours, I started planning how to spend these precious hours with her, cos we never know when we’ll get to see her the next time. And this important plan was almost blown away by the inflexibility of some big organization.

While we were driving up to our meeting point, Abang’s phone rang. My heart stopped. Cos this had happened too many times. And it had always been bad news for us. Alas, it wasn’t what we’d expected. We sighed a sign of relief. We waited for her arrival in front of Yishun 10 at 12pm sharp. After 10 minutes, there wasn’t any sight of her. I started to get worried. When I was about to get Abang to call that woman, I saw a familiar face. One which I’d missed for the past 2 months. I smiled. She has lost some weight and looks even sweeter and lovelier than ever. We united. Finally.

The day passed too fast. We played and enjoyed our precious 6 hours together. Never once I let her out of my sight. I was worried that she would have forgotten about me. But we bonded just like before. I know she love us as much as we love her. The 6 hours was filled with laughter, giggles, hundreds of photos, great time, hugs and kisses. I can still hear her laughter in my ears.

She brightens up our life. Today. And I hope one day, it’ll be everyday.
