I’m a Planner.

November 1, 2010  |  Communities, Events & Outings, Happenings, Social Media  |  8Q Sam, flickevents, Standing Sushi Bar, tnbb  |  No Comments

I like to plan things. Plan my day, my week, the month ahead, the year ahead and everything in my life. I don’t like waking up in the morning not knowing what’s there to do that day. Some say I’m a control freak. I bet to differ. I’ll rather say that I’m a planner. So I plan.

I enjoy planning events and gatherings. From young, I always plan what my family will do on special occasions. When I’m in school, I plan how to make a project work. When I’m at work, I’m tasked to plan events, celebrations and all kind of activities. For the love of planning, I planned quite a few community events and I’m doing one right now.

It’s happening on 13 Nov, Saturday from 2pm to 5pm at Standing Sushi Bar at 8Q SAM. This time round, it should be a cosy event where the greatest in their field, shares what to them is the next big bang – be it for the digital space or for the individuals who are looking at the next big thing to do for themselves. Looking at the list of topics and speakers, I sure am looking forward to it!

I hope you can come join us too if you’re available that day. Especially if you are very much into the digital, social or new media spaces. As the venue has got limited sitting capacity, registration will close once it hits 60. RSVP early before its all filled!

See you there!

Follow me where?

Just a quick update before I shower and catch some sleep…

I’ve decided to separate my personal life with my professional life. (I’m trying to.) First baby step is to separate my rumblings and personal shoutings and professional related sharing digitally.

If you’re business partner, client, potential client/ partner, social media junkies, blogging kakis or anyone related in my professional role as director at 24seven, storyteller at claudia.sg or editor at blogpress.sg, please follow me (@claudia10) on Twitter or add me on Linkedin.

If you’re a friend, family, relative or people who cares (and I care about you too), please add me as friend on facebook. That’s where I’ll be sharing my personal stuff.

If you’re my blog reader, please join Claudia Lim “Fan page” in Facebook. I’m in midst of developing that sad looking page right now. Please be patient. Really… something more happening will take place there soon! So go “Like” Claudia Lim first. (That sounds -_-”)

So there, you’ve been directed to the right channel to get the right kind of things you want to know about or from me.

Now… where’s my sleep….

It was a blast! Hat-py Party a success!

30th December came and go in a flash. It was one of the biggest gathering of bloggers 24seven has hosted since its birth in Dec 2008. Yes, technically speaking, that party could also be seen as to mark the first year anniversary for 24seven. Happy Birthday 24seven! LOL!

Help them win a trip to Japan

June 1, 2009  |  Communities, Happenings  |  Euniqueflair, HisFoodBlog, Honeymeow, Nadnut, Nanyate, Ogilvy, Soyjoy, Soyjoy Challenge  |  4 comments

I did this before for Nadnut and she really did fly to Australia and I won myself a set of Wii. But this time, I cannot make up my mind on who to rally for since all five contestants are people I know! So I’ve decided to dedicate a post here to help all of them get more votes (i hope) from you (my dear readers). There’s nothing for voters to win this time round, but I think each of these five bloggers have got their own list of things they would do for you to vote for them! So read on and find out about them and what this contest is about!

I’d been mixing with a group of guys lately. Crazy, young, fun, cute, hardworking, smart and funny guys!! And yesterday I made some of them camwhore with me! Here’s the result! Muahahahaha!

Find out more about them here. Will talk about my time and experience with them in another post.

Their hard work is being mentioned on today’s Straits Time! Congrats NDPeeps!

Thoughts on the first SGtweetup

May 15, 2009  |  Communities, Social Media  |  Communities, sgtweetup, SMBSG, social media, tweet, Tweet! Tuesday, Twitter, websg  |  6 comments

#sgtweetup ended with mixed thoughts from those who were there that night. So what happened? Was it good? Could it have been better? And what’s the difference between #smbsg #websg #sgtweetup and Tweet! Tuesday? Let see my analysis of them all. *takes out magnifying glass*

First lets see what’s a tweetup. In my own words, its a mashed-up for meet-up that happens for people using Twitter. Hence tweetup. Simple right? So when I came to know about the first sgtweetup by @CarlGriffith, my immediate impression was, “Yeah! I’m going to meet more new people!” And that’s what happened. (For me!) I got to catch up with old friends, especially nice seeing @emoh whom I knew back in my days at Made With Love, and I met lots of new ones too! *waves!!* I regretted not getting to meet everyone there. There will be a next one I’m sure! In fact @inrsoul has already started the next tweetup with beer and tapas on 21 May! (Sorry guys, can’t make it for this one. Heading to BKK the next day.)

Web Standards Group Singapore Meetup

May 1, 2009  |  Communities, Happenings  |  design, Development, meetup, SMU, Tech, web, Web Standards, websg  |  7 comments

Attended my first Web Standards Group Singapore Meetup at SMU on Thursday night. Organised by Lucian. There I see some familiar faces namely Coleman, Jon, Nick, Victor, Kelvin, QQ, Clauds, Hisham and some guys from Qais. Also met Lucian for the first time, Jussi and Andy Croll too. All three I’m following in Twitter.

This group of people at WebSG meetup, I really respect and want to stay in regular contacts with. They all have great thoughts and mind for good web designs and want to make the web a better place. As a user, I curse everytime I have to make myself go through an entire website and failed to find the content I want. And the many examples brought up during Andy Croll’s sharing, I totally agree, they have to do something about it. Many are major players in the web and media scene! Shame on them! (Perhaps that’s why I rarely use their sites.)

If you're reading a post and see a missing photo message from flickr like this...

don't post comment to ask why. I blame it on the stupid sync on iPhoto!
