I want to go on an Island Escapade

May 19, 2011  |  Happenings  |  Asia Pacific Brewries, bintan, contests, Holiday, Island Escapade, Nikoi Island, Tiger Beer  |  No Comments

Travel plans for June and December had to be put on hold and that means its a no-holiday-for-Claudia-in-2011! Almost every year for the past 7 years, we will at least go somewhere together. We need our time to get out to relax and recharge.

The last island escapade for us was at Batam, which is an island but not quite an island escapade since we didn’t get to go to the beach. Our past two getaway at a beach was at Bintan. First was in 2005 and the other in 2008 so by right we should have one to Bintan in 2011 right? If only we can go to Nikoi Island! The one we read about in 2008 but couldn’t go due to budget. And now, Tiger Beer is giving away a private island escapade to Nikoi Island!

Tiger Beer is all set to bedazzle Singapore by giving one lucky beer drinker and his/her 14 friends the “Best Holiday in the World” and the opportunity to create their own private island escapade worth $50,000. From 1st April to 31st May 2011, simply purchase $30 of Tiger Beer in a single receipt and enter your information in their Facebook page. Find out more at facebook.com/TigerBeerSingapore.

Back to my dream island escapade…

No need to fly. Just drive.

April 3, 2010  |  Rediscover Singapore, Travel Guide  |  Explore Singapore, Holiday, Resort World Sentosa, sentosa, Silso Beach Resort, singapore, Travel Guide, Universal Studio  |  No Comments

During his March school term break and both of us needed to get away from the stress at work for awhile and spend quality time together. So we had an impromptu getaway to Sentosa. And we rediscovered the fun things we can do at this small “island”! Now we’re planning for one more in December! Who says going on holiday has to fly? We just drive! Or you can just ride the SEX in! Ya… Sentosa EXpress from Vivo!

While we planned this trip, we didn’t know that it was also the soft opening for Universal Studio. When we knew about it, we thought we’ll be stuck in major jam going into Sentosa. Glad that didn’t happen. Traffic was smooth and the place wasn’t as packed as we thought.

We didn’t get chance on the first day to dip into the cool pool at Siloso Beach Resort. The waterfall is enticing us to get in there quick.

Eat-Eat-Eat in Bangkok

January 5, 2010  |  Food Guide, Travel Guide  |  Bangkok, Claud talks Food, Holiday, iPhone 3GS, iPhonography, Thailand  |  2 comments

Having gone to Bangkok for ermm… can’t recall how many times, I’m not going to blog about what I did and where I went. It’s almost a SOP for me already. Bangkok to me is a place to shop till I drop, go for daily massage near my favorite boutique hotel and eat eat eat! Was so lazy that all my photos were taken with my iPhone! >.< Just a quick post to remember the food I had during my December 09 trip to Bangkok with family and friends...

At an old restaurant near Asia Hotel. The food is pretty good and its cheap!

Bandung the shoppers paradise

June 29, 2009  |  Travel Guide  |  AirAsia, Bandung, Budget, Factory Outlets, Food Guide, Holiday, Indonesia, Photos, review, shopping, Travel Guide  |  3 comments

You just got to love me! Cause I am going to share my final bit about Bandung and than I will give you a whole list of Must Go when you are there. Save on the number of days trying to figure out where to go in Bandung with this post! Get ready to shop till you drop lah!

First, let me finish sharing and recording my trip with Abang to Bandung.

On the third day, also can consider as our last, since we had to reach the airport at 11am the following day, so no shopping nor visit was possible (one day wasted lah!), we decided to pamper ourselves with a massage. Not knowing where to find, we checked with the hotel lobby and there’s brochure for Aroma Theraphy Health Beauty Spa at Bandung Trade Centre (BTC). (No I didn’t spell Theraphy wrongly. That’s the name of the shop.) Since there’s free shutter service from our hotel to BTC, we decided to go take a look see.

Bandung Day 2 – More stores but less spent

June 27, 2009  |  Travel Guide  |  Bandung, Canon Ixus 110IS, Holiday, Indonesia, Photos, shopping, trip  |  1 Comment

Continuing from the previous post on our first visit to Bandung. Day 2 is shopping and more shopping. We walked too much that day and bought too little. Was recommended to a wrong place and went too early. Got lost with our own navigation and got quoted a ridiculous price for a ride on their public transport. If you’re interested to learn more about Bandung and where not recommended to go, read on…

The view from the bedroom of our junior suite. Yes, most are low raised buildings that very much resembles the bungalow estates around Singapore, just not as well maintained and organised.

Where the hell is Bandung? Can drink one isit?

June 25, 2009  |  Travel Guide  |  abang, Bandung, Canon Ixus, Canon Ixus 110IS, Factory Outlets, Food Guide, Holiday, Indonesia, Photos, shopping, Travel Guide, trip  |  4 comments

That was the first questions I get when I told my friends that I’ll be away for a short trip with Abang. Yes, we went to this small city call Bandung and no they don’t serve any Bandung drink there! I don’t even remember seeing any rose syrup! All I see are lots of tehbotel! I drank countless bottles of that when I was there!

So where the hell is Bandung and what’s there that attracted us to give this little known place a visit? Before I start telling you more, here’s me and Abang at Singapore Terminal 1 waiting for our AirAsia plane. By the way, that’s the only way you can get to Bandung direct from Singapore. (Note: All images can be clicked to view larger format if you want to.)

Shop till we drop in Bangkok

June 21, 2009  |  Travel Guide  |  Bangkok, canon, Canon EOS 500D, Chatuchak, Diana, Holiday, molemole, Photos, shopping, Thailand, Travel Guide, trip  |  1 Comment

Way overdue! I’m back from two other trips already and yet I’m still only at my very first! This should wrap up my short adventure with Diana in Bangkok. You can find my other posts from our Bangkok trip here… Barcamp Bangkok 3 and Food whoring in Bangkok.

As the title tells, in this post, the shopaholic me is coming out of the closet! Yes! I love to shop! I categorize myself into two types of shopaholic. I can be a practical shopper (buying with a list in mind) or I can be an impulse shopper (buying because I feel like it). Good thing I am now more of a practical shopper than I used to. Most things I buy these days are either planned or there was some form of thinking process before I make a purchase. Let’s get to the point… Diana and I shopped till we drop in Bangkok! Where else better to do this than in the infamous Chatuchak Weekend Market!

don't post comment to ask why. I blame it on the stupid sync on iPhoto!
