30th December came and go in a flash. It was one of the biggest gathering of bloggers 24seven has hosted since its birth in Dec 2008. Yes, technically speaking, that party could also be seen as to mark the first year anniversary for 24seven. Happy Birthday 24seven! LOL!

Staying disconnected

June 16, 2009  |  The Woman  |  Holiday, Personal, reflect, samsung, Samsung Jet, trip  |  2 comments

Its been long since I tried stay disconnected from my connected life. And for the next 4 days, I am going to try my best to stay as far away as possible from my connected life. Pray hard there’s no Wifi in the hotel so that I will not be able to have the urge to whip out my MBP and start checking and replying to emails.

I hope to also take this opportunity to plan for the future ahead. I want to start my 28th year with a big bang! Yap! Will be 28th in a couple of weeks time! Old already!! 2 more years and I’ll hit my next big 0!

I’ve got a lot of backlog to post but all will have to wait till I’m back! For now, I’ve got a video to share… see how clear the videos are on AMOLED! Beau-ti-ful!

Check out this Jet! Video taken with Canon IXUS 110IS. Am liking the HD video recording and its compact size! Bringing it with me for my trip! Foresee taking more videos than photos over the next four days!

Adios! for now. Be back on Friday!

Claud’s Ideal Mobile Phone April 09

April 22, 2009  |  Tech & Gadgets  |  CtG, HP, HTC, ideal phone, iphone, mashup, Mobile Phone, nokia, samsung  |  7 comments

Having attended and got first hand try on so many mobile phones, I’m soooo stuck! Its NEVER going to be easy for me to get a new phone ever! So I’ve decided to create my own mobile phone!

This is what my phone will look like…

Can you recognised which parts come from which model? Yes, its a mashed up! Let me explain more about my ideal mobile phone…

Currently I’m owning the Samsung Innov8, which I’m loving for its camera and audio experience. But the flash on the Innov8 would have been better if it was Xeon flash. So I’d edited it with the Sony Ericsson C905 flash. However, its not optimised enough for content consumption. Having tried the HTC Touch HD for a month now, I’m really loving how big the screen is and the clarity of it. Than there’s the Nokia E63 which I just tried, the QWERTY keyboard is one that I love. And the email features too. But the screen is just not optimised for web browsing. Than!! The iphone interface! This I don’t need to elaborate I guess.

So in short, my ideal phone will look something like the above. I wonder if anyone would really have something like that soon? I think not.

So what’s YOUR ideal phone? Do a mashup and share it! Leave a link so I can go check it out!

P/s: Why am I calling it my ideal phone for April 09? Cos there’s always better features and better phones coming out! Since its my ideal phone, I get to decide how it looks or works anytime I like right? =P

Right… alighting from the train now.

CtG: Emporio Armani + Samsung

February 23, 2009  |  Reviews, Tech & Gadgets  |  CtG, Emporio Armani, Gadget, Handphone, mobile, Nikon D40, review, samsung, Samsung M7500  |  2 comments

Put Armani and Samsung together and you get this…

Samsung M7500

Slim sexy white (or black) Emporio Armani phone with flashing luminous light that’s great for clubs and the dance floor. The side with the branding is where the lights illuminate. There’s green, blue and red.

Not quite the type of phone I would use. But well, I’m sure there are a market for such fashionable and head-turning phone. Especially with this sexy logo of GA at the back!

The soft-to-the-touch, rubber-like feel and texture which was supposed to give it a more senses touch, to my bf, it made it feel almost like a toy. (What an expensive and branded toy!)

If you’re into the looks, branding and touch of phones, than this Emporio Armani phone is for you. The keypad is flat but feels silky when touched. Perhaps the best feature of this phone imo is the touch of the center button. Don’t ask me why, but I just can’t stop feeling it! *hmmm*

What’s an entertainment phone with no multimedia control buttons? These aren’t missing from this slim phone. On the right side of the phone, you can find these…

The Music Hotkeys

And did I mention that you can use your sexy earpiece with this too? It supports the standard 35mm jack.

More information about the phone from the official website…

Specially designed with unique EA logo and fonts, the deep black graphic user interface employs premium 2.2-inch 256K advance AMOLED display technology to offer pure visual delight. Go beyond conventional LCD-based GUI, for blacks that are blacker, whites that are whiter and razor-sharp contrasts that are absolutely stunning.

One feature to highlight is the music recognition (which I also witnessed similar feature on the HTC Dream phone at the Android launch)

Advanced music recognition feature lets you instantly identify any song, anywhere. Simply hit record for a few seconds, send your recorded clip to the SHAZAM server and voila! Within seconds you’re provided with the artist and title of the song, and a link that connects you directly to an online music store.

This phone comes in very nice packaging of course!

This phone can be found at Samsung.

Claud talks Gadgets in 2009

January 22, 2009  |  Reviews, Tech & Gadgets  |  CtG, Mobile Phones, netbook, PlayNow, review, samsung, Samsung Pixon, Sony, Sony Ericsson, Sony Vaio P  |  2 comments

Its been long long ago since I did a ezine for Claud talks Gadgets. Running an ezine on a personal blog is really not easy! If you’re doing it too, I’m sure you know the pain. I really must salute to Sheylara for her weekly Gamer Girl Friday!

This year, with a big shift of my responsibilities and involvement in social media, I think I would have to make a big shift too for my blogging habits. Perhaps I should find another person name Claud to take over this column here. Anyone willing to do it? The only requirement is to be able to take photos, write and review gadgets like the original Claud if not better than Claud! If you think you can, write to me now! Till I find this person, I’ll have to do it on my own.

So for my first issue of CtG in 2009, I’m going to touch on three (latest and not so new) products that are here in Singapore.

In this issue…

  1. Review of the Samsung Pixon phone
  2. The sleek and sexy PC that fits into your pocket!
  3. DRM-free music from Sony Playnow

These children need your help

January 7, 2009  |  Communities  |  Call for support, Charity, Communities, Featured, Hope Taks Off, MILK, Pledge, samsung, Samsung Hope, Singapore Children's Society  |  3 comments

We were all once a child before. Some of you already having your own. So what I am going to share, is nothing new to you. And all I hope you will do, is to give a little support to these children who need your help. This is a call for your pledge for more hope for these children.

I may not have seen the worst, but I have seen enough…

  1. The parent who couldn’t afford to buy a proper meal for their children.
  2. The parent who can’t accept the reality that their child is autistic.
  3. The parent who can’t understand why their perfect child isn’t able to learn like other children.
  4. The single mother who is trying to get ends meet, had to make her 10-year-old daughter to work with her at the coffee shop serving beer to the uncles and men.
  5. The child who has no one to turn to at home because her parents are always no way in sight.

All these and much much more. There are simply too many problems, family and children in need. Most of the times, the children in these cases are innocent and were brought to the situation by the lack of love, concern, care and support from their parents and family. But there is still hope. You can help them!

Singapore Children’s Society – http://www.childrensociety.org.sg

M.I.L.K – Mainly I Love Kids – http://www.milk.org.sg

The above are two local initiatives who are here to help these children. But it takes more than just their love, support, time and programme to spread out to so many children out there. Yes, there are fund raising events, flag day, donation drives and charity runs organised to help raise funds and awareness. But now, there is one more way for you to help…

Samsung has set aside USD700,000 for total of 21 beneficiaries from 5 countries. All of them already will receive a base sum set by Samsung. But now, you can help Samsung decide how they can distribute the remaining sum. Help them by pledging your hope at Samsung Hopes Take Off.

I have made my pledge. Have you?

If you have a blog too, you can help spread the words out…
