Participants stand to win up to US$60,000 in cash, prizes and business development opportunities. Overseas finalists will receive 5 night hotel stay in Singapore for 2 core team members. Apart from the top six teams, there will be an individualMost Promising Young Entrepreneur award. The best performing local team in the finals will also be eligible to tap into a S$100,000 HSBC Investment Grant to give life to their businessidea. Attended my first Web Standards Group Singapore Meetup at SMU on Thursday night. Organised by Lucian. There I see some familiar faces namely Coleman, Jon, Nick, Victor, Kelvin, QQ, Clauds, Hisham and some guys from Qais. Also met Lucian for the first time, Jussi and Andy Croll too. All three I’m following in Twitter.

This group of people at WebSG meetup, I really respect and want to stay in regular contacts with. They all have great thoughts and mind for good web designs and want to make the web a better place. As a user, I curse everytime I have to make myself go through an entire website and failed to find the content I want. And the many examples brought up during Andy Croll’s sharing, I totally agree, they have to do something about it. Many are major players in the web and media scene! Shame on them! (Perhaps that’s why I rarely use their sites.)

Yeah!! I’m trying to do it again!! Feeling sick and cold, but I’ll try my best. Started slightly late (my live blogging), but i’ll try to catch up. Here’s half the crowd in room 4.3 now…

Good news to start off is the organisers have combined Melvin’s and Walter’s session in the same room. So now we do not have any risk of getting unfriend from either of them! ha!

I can’t remember how I chanced upon this young guy whom has a great mind and thoughts. Coming from a none communication related background, I struggled at my job. Even after almost 9 months, I see myself needing to learn more, to hear more and to read more. But if you still don’t know me well enough, you might not know that I HATE reading. Yes! Everytime I see lines and lines and paragraph of words, my eyes tend to shut and my brain usually ignores 99% of the words infront of me. But I find myself reading Daryl‘s blog at Unique-Frequency. I’ve to say I admires and respect his work on his blog. He may be only a fresh fresh-grad-to-be from SMU, but he sure have a very good mind and concept on what he’s doing. Vocal is another word to describe him.

This guy is one to look out for. If you’re scratching your head now, why not check out his recent hot posts on Why Social Media Struggles in Singapore. I’d been reading it over and over for a couple of time, but with my mind being occupied by sooo many things now, I just don’t know how to contribute. I really want to but my mind just aren’t making sentences out. :(
