ZoukOut2010 – Claudia’s First

December 13, 2010  |  Events & Outings, Happenings, Rediscover Singapore, Work Related  |  Canon S95, Citi Clear Platinum Card, Citibank, Sol, ZoukOut 2010  |  1 Comment

What an experience it had been at my debute appearance at ZoukOut! *coughs* Sounds as if I was there to DJ or perform! Ha! I spent more time walking from one entrance to the next than dancing on the sand (which I didn’t quite enjoy). Sand and Claudia just doesn’t gel well together you see.

The night was short and sweet for me. My body was aching and screaming for attention even before midnight. It was still an eye opener for this mountain tortoise who’ve never stepped into ZoukOut for the past 9 years. When I finally get to step into one, its already their 10th anniversary! Can’t believe the Mambo Queen in me waited 10 years to realised how much I’d missed out on. And now I’m just too old to boogie much. Boo!

Walking With Dinosaurs – Wow! Wah! Zzz…

December 11, 2010  |  Happenings, Reviews  |  Canon S95, Singapore Indoor Stadium, Sol, The Arena Spectacular, Walking with Dinosaurs  |  No Comments

The title kinda sum up my sentiments for The Arena Spectacular. I’m amazed and wowed by the engineering and design that went into producing the show, but the show and story itself was alright only. Before watching it, I was told it’ll be like watching a National Geographic show on dinosaurs and expect little actions nor blood. But when I’m finally in the National Indoor Stadium, seated in a Cat 3 ($78/ticket) area on an uncomfortable chair, I was rather disappointed.

Walking With Dinosaurs

Using miniature effect of Sol, trying to make Dino look bigger

First by the long wait (10minutes) for the show which was supposed to start at 8pm. Then despite being reminded twice over the public announcement system, “Flash photography is strictly NOT allowed during the show”, flashes of all sizes and power came on the moment the first dinosaur appeared. We were pissed. The lady behind us were scolding all the flashing photographers stupid and cursing that their photos will turn out black, which we knew would most probably end up looking. Who in the right mind uses a point-and-shoot with inbuilt flash while trying to shoot from like 5m away from the subject in a 90% dark huge hall?

Sashimi Overloaded

November 22, 2010  |  Food Guide  |  Canon S95, Itacho Sushi, Japanese, Sashimi, Sol, Standing Sushi Bar, Sushi  |  1 Comment

One day, I woke up and decided I shall have Sashimi for lunch. Instead, I had Sashimi for both lunch and dinner! It was a day of Sashimi Overload! Still failed to find fresher and juicier sashimi than those I had at Standing Sushi Bar at 8 Queen Street.

First stop was at Standing Sushi Bar at 1 Raffles Place, their first outlet. Though its still good, but I felt that the salmon sashimi was not as great as compared to those I had at 8Q. Perhaps its the quality of shipment that day? Still it was a good lunch, standing. :P

Must-Buys from Tokyo

November 20, 2010  |  Food Guide, Travel Guide  |  Canon S95, Shiroi Koibito Chocolate, Snacks, Sol, Tokyo, Tokyo Banana, 白い恋人  |  3 comments

Whoever’s going to or coming back from Tokyo, you gotta bring back some of these yummilicious snacks for your friends! I’ve checked and these are not available in Singapore. Well at least not the real deal. Tried the similar kind, but nothing beats the real deal from Tokyo.

Lunch at Serangoon Garden

November 16, 2010  |  Food Guide, Her Viewfinder  |  Canon S95, Claud talks Food, Lunch, Sol  |  No Comments

Life’s not going to be the same (I hope) since I met Sol. Lesser shots with the iPhone 4, more shots with Sol. That’ll also means more photo posts with short blurbs here on this blog. Sorry if my mundane life bores you. Well this is me.

New Toy, Sol.

November 11, 2010  |  Events & Outings, Rediscover Singapore  |  canon, Canon S95, Night scene, photography, singapore, Sol  |  No Comments

After an evening with Sol, my heart just can’t resists the temptation. It was love after so many sights, and when I finally got to go deeper into him, it was the route of no return.

For the first time, I’m naming my new toy! Sol, my new Canon S95 will arrive in full glory next week. Shall wait patiently for his grand arrival.

My favorite shot taken that night when I fell in love with Sol’s twin brother.

Take a closer look.

Thanks Canon for hosting us that night.
