I’m back in action with my new iPad. And its housed in a blue Targus slim case, which I kinda regret buying. Here’s a quick review on the Targus Slim Case for the new iPad (3rd generation iPad).

Front view of the Targus Slim Case

Back view of the Targus Slim Case (With Jot Pro stylus attached)

Targus Slim Case fully opened with iPad inside

Hands free viewing angle

Ergonomic typing angle

So far, the Targus Slim Case looks pretty good right? Slim and compact, nice color and the texture of the skin feels good too. It allows the iPad to stand at the two most needed angles. And even has a elastic holder for stylus at back of the case. The only problem I have with this case is that it doesn’t allow me to hold my iPad at a proper ‘holdable’ position with case opened and folded.

Problem: It doesn't go flat when cover is fully opened and pushed to back of iPad

With the bulge like that, how to hold the iPad and use it while on the move? Its neither ergonomic nor useful to have the case folded and looking like that.

The cover will go flat with the case looking like this (image below). Again, how does one hold the iPad, writes or types on it when on the move?

Flats with one-third of cover folded

Am very disappointed that this Targus slim case has such bad design. Wasted $79.90 on it. Am considering cutting off the cover, leave the back cover and buy the original iPad magnetic cover for it. Should I?

In this post of Claud talks Gadgets, I’m sharing something soft and smooth. Something which protects your previous gadget.

Targus has just launched its new range of laptop bags and cases with the Hughes (for those who wants the business-class style), Spruce (for the Eco friendly you) and Crave (for those who loves to hug and touch *coughs*) collections. Each line of bags has its own unique style and is catered to different lifestyles and needs.

The one I’ve got with me is the Targus Crave Laptop Sliipcase. This case was inspired by outdoor apparel and is made of durable weather-resistant material which has been abrasion tested for durability and features a stain-guard coating to protect its surface. Don’t need to worry about it getting dirtied nor splashed at.

There is a zippered side pocket that provides storage for a power adapter or additional accessories like a mouse. With just enough room to carry your laptop and a few essentials, this multifunctional slipcase can be used alone or inside another laptop case for added protection. The interior is made from Scratch-Resistant Microfiber, so you need not worry that your precious lappy will get “injured” while traveling inside the Targus laptop slipcase. The soft, scratch-resistant lining keeps the laptop free from dust or scratches while on the go. And I like feeling its softness. Works as a pillow too for me! Great for students who need a quick nap in-between classes. :P

Did I mention that Targus carriers come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty? Great for those who remains faithful to your gadget accessories.

Targus range of accessories are available in stores. Find out where from their website.

Yes! I’m now mousing more than I use my trackpad! Ever since I got my macbook, the mice has not been my best friend. I got so used to the trackpad, I never ever thought of owning a mouse. But now, I’m a convert. I’m mousing more and more lately! All thanks to Targus Bluetooth Laser Mouse.

One reason why I don’t use a mouse is also because of the need of one more USB port. Never thought of getting a bluetooth mouse till I tried the Targus mice. Connecting it is so easy, all you need is to pair it once and the next time you used it, it’ll get paired automatically.

My favorite part of the mouse is the four-way touch scroll. It is really very smooth to touch and allows more rapid scrolling at your fingertip with 4-way touch sensor technology replacing the scroll ball/scroll wheel. After you try this, you don’t want to use another scroll wheel again.

The other feature of the Targus Bluetooth Laser Mouse is dual program button which allows you to personalized what it does.

Make the mouse your own with customizable one-touch access to favorite applications or functions. Buttons are conveniently located on the side of the mouse for intuitive, easy reach. Mine I’d set it to copy and paste.

The ergonomic design and sleek shape fits just right for my hand.

Targus Bluetooth Laser Mouse for Mac is available is store and retailing at S$99.90. The price you’ve got to pay for comfort mousing, smooth scrolling and matching design for your sexy macbook!

After trying out two products by Targus, I’m eyeing on the other products within the series too! I’m sure it’ll be as comfortable and easy to use. The File Share Cable for Mac looks interesting! Great for those who has to work between a PC and a Mac.

Let me know if you’d tried any of their products before.

One year plus after using my macbook, I started to feel the heat coming out from below. When it gets too hot, the hard disk will start complaining by a loud spinning and heating sound. Than my left hand will start heating up too. I tried lifting up with the ball thinggy I got from Challenger to let the heat escape, but it didn’t help much. When I was asked to try a new product from Targus, I was skeptical. Will it really work? I’ve seen many similar products in stores before, but many of them looks like some China made product that I was afraid of trying.

When I received the brown box from Targus, my first impression was “WoW!” And than, “Will this really work?”

The Targus Chill Mat is created specially for mac. The sleek and simple design fits nicely with my macbook. And it was love at first touched – between the Chill Mat and my Macbook. See how loving they look together! (Pardon the dirty looking macbook! Its sign that I should get a new one soon!)

The Targus Chill Mat has dual USB powered fans that are strategically placed for optimal cooling. And you can use the Chill Mat on your lap too! The soft mesh bottom is breathable and facilitates air flow and keeps your lap cool. With the tilted angle design, it is ergonomically positioned for comfortable use on both on the lap and desktop.

Since its USB powered, you just need to connect the Chill Mat to your macbook and switched it on!

My verdict after using the Targus Chill Mat for Mac? I’m loving it! I’m using it everyday in my office. Great for long hours of heavy loading on my macbook, and it really works! And its silent too. You cannot hear the spinning fans at all! No more grumbling from my macbook when I’m using the Chill Mat. My macbook will still scold me whenever I use it at home, cause there’s no cooling mat below it. Hurhur!

Targus Chill Mat for Mac is available in stores and you can get yours at S$72.90. Price is a little steep, but its worth it!

P/s: I know this is my second Claud talks gadgets this week! But I’m having sooo many things on my CtG list now! Will be pushing out more CtG for the rest of the week! So many that I’m considering setting up another blog just for gadgets! *faints*
