If you’d bought your Sony Vaio TZ machines between May 2007 to Aug 2008, you might want to check if yours in one of the affecting models. Sony is recalling these machines for inspection and repair.
When I got home today, I saw this chinese newspaper clipping on my table. I think mum left it for me to take note. Not sure if this news is on the English papers or not, but I thought I should just post it here for those who don’t read the papers. (Like me!) Furthermore, I know of some friends who’re using Sony. So ya… please take note of the following…
Sony has recently discovered that limited number of VAIO “TZ series” notebook computers sold between May 2007 and Aug 2008 may, in rare cases, generate heat around the DC jack inlet and frame of LCD screen, which creates the potential of deformation of the plastic casing.
As part of our ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction and safety, Sony is offering a free inspection and repair service to owners of applicable models. For customers with the applicable models, we request you to please contact your nearest Sony Service Centre @ 6473 6500 for the inspection arrangement.
