Libratone Live available in 5 colors retailing at S$1199

Libratone Live works like an acoustic instrument filling the entire room with sound. The tweeters and midrange drivers disperse sound in different directions, reflecting it off the walls, providing 360° sound. High-end components such as ribbon-based tweeters along with digital signal processing and digital amplification gives you premium sound. They call it FullRoom.

Libratone Live is designed to enhance the experience of Apple products. It works with iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Furthermore, as long as you have iTunes 10.1 or later, you are good to go – no matter if it’s on your Mac or your PC.

Libratone Live can be used with AirPlay (wireless from Apple devices) and 3.5-mm audio minijack for analog or optical digital sound. More technical specs available here.

Tried and tested the Libratone Live, without AirPlay cos I had problem setting up with my Singtel Mio modem. Sound quality is alright, considering its steep pricing. Set it against a wall or better still, at a corner of the room for better audio. Its better for none loud music, if you’re into head-banging, mind blowing audio, this is not for you.

Till I get my hands on more AirPlay speakers (and being able to set it up properly for use at home), I’ll keep my accumulated thoughts based on reviews I read online to myself. If you’re considering getting one, google for more reviews. :P

Libratone sets are currently on sale at all Apple Premium Resellers, leading consumer electronic stores (e.g. HMV, Challenger) and at Changi Airport’s duty free shops in all three terminals.
